Only 200 H Windows were sold that first year of 1959, but it was the start of something great. In 1970 the H hardware was greatly improved which led to the first H Window licensees abroad in 1972.

In 1987 the H Window Company in Monticello, Minnesota, was established as a pilot program to build a aluminum/wood composite window using Spilka hardware to see if the fully reversible concept would be accepted in North America as it was in Northern Europe. The concept and hardware being virtually unknown in North America, along with having to learn the North American market, was a challenge and resulted in a slow start. However, the H Window Company has proven the concept and their window has been accepted residentially and commercially for both new and renovation construction markets. The H Window Company now sells products for residential and commercial buildings through a trained authorized dealer network throughout the United States.
In 2001, H Window was purchased by a group of businesspeople and financial consultants with a history of operating successful companies. In addition to the American investors, a group of Norwegian investors remain a part of the company and was relocated to Ashland, Wisconsin. H Window Company will celebrate 35 years of operation in the United States in 2022.
